Metropolitan Community Church of New York is a spiritual home for the LGBTQI community. We are open to all people and look forward to welcoming you into our home.
We recognize the call from God to preach Good News to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex community of New York. Our vision is salvation, liberation, and social action. Many of us came to MCCNY when it became clear that we in the LGBTQI community were unwelcome in our churches. MCCNY intentionally provides a home for our diverse community and all who choose to join us through practicing the gospel of Christ in worship, prayer, social action, education, and fellowship so that we all may experience God's love, wholeness, and justice.
Today, MCCNY has an active congregation of over 500 members. We all support several ministries and organizations to support the poor, the hungry, and the homeless in our city and around the world. We believe our church is called to be the spiritual center of our city. It is our dream and the word of the gospel that diverse people from all walks of life can live together in prosperous relationships, sharing their gifts, talents, and resources with one another. We worship to strengthen our relationships with God and all creation, and to have the courage to change the world. Prayer and worship are the focus of the community life and the foundation of everything we do. We believe that the purpose of queer people and our different sexualities is to bring the world to better relationships, and that God has created, loved, and included every person as a unique and wonderful being in his commonwealth. Come join us at MCCNY to learn more about God's liberating love for all people!
